Hexagram 18 Judgment
蠱，元亨，利涉大川。先甲三日，後甲三日。
(Gǔ, yuán hēng, lì shè dà chuān. Xiān jiǎ sān rì, hòu jiǎ sān rì.)
"Correction of decay. Origin and smooth progress. It is favorable to undertake a major transition. Three days before, three days after."
This describes a situation requiring active correction of what has been allowed to degrade. Movement is possible, but only through deliberate effort.
The reference to time indicates preparation and follow-through. Repair is not instantaneous—it requires understanding what led to the condition and sustaining the correction beyond the initial change.

泰，小往大来，吉亨。

"Free exchange. The lesser moves outward, the greater comes inward. Favorable outcome. Smooth progress."
This describes a state in which what is limited recedes and what is substantial advances. The movement is not forced—it arises naturally from alignment.
Because communication between levels is open, development proceeds without obstruction. This is a condition of flow rather than effort.

天地交泰，后以财成天地之道，辅相天地之宜，以左右民。

"Heaven and earth join in exchange: peace. The superior person shapes and completes the patterns of interaction, supports what is fitting, and guides the people accordingly."
